Is Urine Output Lower in CKD Patientsss

Is Urine Output Lower in CKD PatientsssLow urine output means one urinate less than others, which is an abnormal physical condition and can be caused by many conditions. Kidney is the organ to produce urine, so is urine output lower in CKD patients?

Indeed, CKD is always accompanied with a series of urine changes which go as below:

1. Frequent urination

Frequent urination is one of the urine problems that CKD patients may experience. This problem is especially common in hypertensive kidney disease and mainly caused by dysfunction of renal tubule which is of reabsorption function.

2. Low urine output

Urine output reduces when CKD develops to kidney failure stage. At that time, kidneys have been severely damaged and can not filter as blood as they did before. Consequently, wastes and unwanted fluid can not be removed out of the body, leading to low urine output.

3. Foamy urine

Foamy urine is one of the urine changes in CKD and this problem is usually resulted from severe protein leakage. To eliminate foams in urine, we need to reduce protein in urine, which need us to repair damaged kidney structure. Only in this way, can proteinuria problem be solved permanently.

4. Blood urine

Blood urine is the urine with blood color. Based on studies, our blood looks red due to hemoglobin contained by red blood cells. In CKD, while blood flow through kidney, red blood cells leak into urine, leading to blood urine. In general, the more serious the kidney problem is, the more severe of blood urine is.

Low urine output is just one of the urine changes that CKD patients might experience, which occurs easily when illness develops to advanced stage. In case of CKD, reduce of urine output means rapid decline of kidney function and if no effective treatment is given at this time, kidneys will shut down completely and at that time, there will be no urine output.
