How to Increase Urine Output with Kidney Failure

How to Increase Urine Output with Kidney FailureKidney is the organ that takes charge of producing urine, so when there is kidney problem, there are changes on urine or urine output. Decline of urine output is a common clinical manifestation of kidney failure, and usually, the lesser the urine output, the poorer the kidney condition. Since kidney is responsible for producing urine, so increase of urine output may indicate improvement of kidney function among kidney failure patients. However, how to increase urine output on earth for kidney failure patients?

Why urine output decreases in kidney failure?

The amount of daily urine output depends on many factors such as fluid intake and how much physical exercises you do everyday, but for a healthy adult, the normal range of urine should be between 400 to 2000 ml---with a normal fluid intake of about 2 liters per day.

Blood with nutrition and wastes flow into kidney through renal artery. When they pass through glomeruli, some fluids and wastes are filtered from blood and after that, 90% of these fluids are reabsorbed. 10% of the fluids and wastes are finally excreted out of the body as urine. In cases of kidney failure, due to the dysfunction of some kidney tissues, kidneys filter less blood within limited time and consequently, urine output decreases. That is the reason why the volume of urine output reflects kidney condition in kidney failure.

How to increase urine output with kidney failure?

One of the major job of kidney is to filter blood and produce urine, so urine output declines when kidneys fail to do such a work. Under such a condition, if we want to increase daily urine output, we need to improve kidney function firstly.

For people with primary kidney failure, the most important thing for them is to repair kidney damages. Kidney works through a group of kidney tissues and it can not work properly, when these kidney tissues are injured. Therefore, only when injured kidney tissues are repaired, can kidney function be improved and also can much more urine be secreted every day.

In some other cases, kidney failure is secondary to other illnesses like Diabetes and Hypertension. In such a case, apart from repairing kidney damages, we also need to treat primary illness effectively. Since kidneys are damaged due to these illnesses, so only when they are brought under control, can further kidney damages are prevented and also only in such a condition, are there chance for us to get kidney function improved and urine output gets increased.
