PKD is the kidney disorder in which kidneys are covered with large and small kidney cysts. In the early stage, the cysts are small and less, and at that time, they are not so harmful to kidney. However, as time goes by, more and more cysts are formed in kidney. They enlarge with the increase of fluid inside the cyst, which makes kidney become larger and larger. At that time, large kidney cysts rupture easily and this need us to be careful about our physical activity.

In early stage of PKD, any kind of riding bicycle, swimming and ping pang are allowed, but when PKD develops to advanced stage, exercises that need patients to twist their waist are not allowed, as they may cause rupture of kidney cyst. Rupture of kidney cyst is usually accompanied with sharp pain in kidney location and blood urine. In such a case, kidney infection and peritonitis are caused easily, so a timely and effective management is needed at this time.

Generally, when cysts in kidney are very large, mild exercises like walking, playing Tai Chi, as well as some Yoga posture are recommended, so as to prevent press on kidney location.
